In the first week of October, eighth-grade students participated in a creative activity by designing their own bookmarks. The activity was inspired by the books they are currently reading in their literacy class, which are written by the Indonesian author Tere Liye.

During the activity, students had the opportunity to express their creativity by designing bookmarks based on themes of the books they were reading. Each bookmark reflected the students’ individual ideas and artistic styles, making every creation unique and personal.

Furthermore, the activity aimed to foster students’ interest in reading and promote a positive literacy culture at school. Through a combination of reading and creative expression, students learned that literacy can be an enjoyable experience that goes beyond the pages of a book.

The bookmark-making activity concluded with students proudly presenting their creations. Their colorful and imaginative designs served as a reminder that reading can inspire creativity, imagination, and a lifelong love of learning.
